Drone Filming
Leeds & Yorkshire

CAA-licensed aerial film and stills for construction sites, estates and events across Yorkshire, flown by the same crew that shoots the ground coverage.

--- Why Northworks

Licensed, insured, and flown by the crew that shoots the ground.

Northworks holds a current CAA operator ID, our pilots are qualified, and every flight is insured and risk assessed. We fly DJI Inspire 3 for cinema work and Mavic 3 Pro for speed and tight spaces, with FPV when the shot calls for it. London is the studio, with a second base in Leeds, so a Leeds flight carries no travel cost and the rest of Yorkshire is an easy day.

--- What we fly
  1. 01

    Construction and infrastructure

Progress from a fixed position across a build, and the wide at handover that shows the finished scheme in context. Morgan Sindall’s Springwell Gardens in Leeds and GVA’s live works across the county both carry aerial cut in with the ground coverage.

  2. 02

    Estates and property

The grounds, the approach and the view: the frame that sells a location rather than just the rooms. It is what we flew along the cliffs and terraces of the Mondrian and Hyde hotels in Ibiza.

  3. 03

    Events

The venue full, the queue, the site from above, planned around the crowd and flown with distance from anyone who is not part of the shoot. At the International Music Summit in Ibiza the aerial ran alongside the stills, the content and a live broadcast.

  4. 04

    Landscape and energy

For Sika at Pates Hill Windfarm in Scotland we flew the Inspire 3 above the cloud line to put the turbines in their landscape. The same crew and the same process work on a Yorkshire hillside.

--- How it works
  1. 01

    Tell us the site

The address, the dates and what the aerial is for. We check the airspace and the take-off options before we quote.

  2. 02

    Permissions and paperwork

Landowner consent, site coordination and the risk assessment, sorted before the day rather than on it.

  3. 03

    Fly

Inspire 3 or Mavic 3 Pro depending on the site, with the ground crew working alongside so the aerial and the ground footage match.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Graded aerial cut in with the ground coverage, plus aerial stills, in the ratios your channels need.

--- Questions

Do we need permission to fly over our site?

Your consent as landowner or site manager, yes, and we arrange it with you. Beyond that it depends on the airspace: Leeds Bradford Airport has a flight restriction zone around it, and a site inside it needs clearance first. We check every location when we quote and tell you plainly whether it is a yes, a yes with planning, or a no.

What happens if the weather is wrong?

Wind and rain decide whether a drone flies, not the calendar. We watch the forecast through the week and call it early if the aerial would be unsafe or not worth having. On a combined shoot the ground crew can often carry on while the flight moves to the next good day, and how a weather move is handled is agreed in the quote before anything is booked.

What do we get delivered?

A graded aerial film cut in with the ground coverage, plus aerial stills, sized for the website, the socials and the bid document. Raw files are available if your own team needs them.

Who flies, and are they licensed?

The same crew that shoots the ground coverage. Northworks holds a current CAA operator ID, our pilots are qualified, and every flight is insured and risk assessed.
